Description

Red eyed tree frog embryos, 3 days old.
The female frog lays the eggs above a watersource, and when the tadpoles hatch, they fall into the water.
Developing from tiny green dots into fully formed tadpoles takes just 6-7 days in this species. At 3 days old the external gills are easily seen, as are the pumping hearts inside their tiny, semi-transparent bodies.

If you've ever wanted to take spectacular frog shots (among tons of other wildlife species!), now you can do just that in my upcoming 'Macro and More' Costa Rica 2013 workshop, this July. The workshop presents the opportunity to improve your macro and nature photography skills in a stunning environment with endless beauty and photo opportunities, a mind-boggling abundance of wildlife, great fun and of course, yours truly as a dedicated guide :)
Please click on the link for more details, and don't hesitate to contact me regarding any questions. I hope to see you there!

You are also welcome to like my Facebook page, where you can get a first look at my images, as well as get all the info about my trips, photo workshops and other news.

That means caviar is not just in fishes, but also in frogs.
