Land Coral

The first from a series I made on an October morning.
A photography school I'm teaching in had american photographer Joel Grimes (excellent photographer and super nice guy!) for a lecture and a workshop, so we took him for some good time (in the nature-photographer sense, not in the strip-club sense!)
One of the trips was to the sinkhole area in the dead sea. Weather in this place is usually very dry, due to clouds getting blocked in the mountains of Jerusalem, to the west. But on this morning we had an incredible amount of luck, and not only had coulds, but really good ones and a great sunrise. I guess luck comes to the good guys (I meant Joel!)...

This image was taken before the sunrise lightshow started, and I owe its look to Joel who inspired me not to adhere to the histogram, and allow myself to make "gloomy" shots. I really like how it turned out.
