After a great sunset in Tayrona, I started getting ready for the night. There was one big problem though - the only two sleeping options there are a hammock (incredibly uncomfortable) and a tent (more comfortable but impossibly hot and humid. I gave it a quick thought and decided, quite simply, not to sleep. The decision proved quite beneficial, since if I had slept, I'd have missed a spectacular night. This is one of the first shots that followed. The tall, lush palm trees served as a curious foreground, adorning the clearly-visible milky way. There are definite advantages to being a night owl!
