Radio Ga Ga by erezmarom Radio Ga Ga by erezmarom
There was a meteor shower not long ago, so we went to shoot it. When I saw the full-moon-lit sky, I decided to give that up and go for something different...
This huge statue served as the radio antenna; 3 hours of startrails provided the radio waves :)

does a single battery last for 3 hours with the shutter opened?

Much more than that, only 1 'battery-line' had dropped... I think it could have lasted 10 hours in these conditions.

Just visiting Erez :)

This is crazy good! IT would only have been more perfect if you had aligned Polaris at the very tip o the statue :D
Really lovely!

BTW, what where you doing during those three hours? :)

Yeah, I really wanted to position the polaris on top, but the statue was too tall and there was an abyss behind me...

Three hours is nothing much, I had 3 friends with me so we made some food and played angry birds :D

might i ask you another thing, how did you know where to shot to have the exact center of the waves, seems to be too hard for long exposures try outs.

thank you and have a nice weekend friend :)

Just find the north-star (polaris) - all other stars rotate around it.

isn't it too long exposure for a 60D?

It's made from 30-sec exposures.

Continuous shooting of 30-sec images along 3 hours, then stacking them using software.

you mean - two photos a minute, for 3 hours? 260 photos total?
i can understand why this short exposures but how did you marge them all for one clean smooth picture? which program if i may ask?

wow great process!
