A spittlebug nymph, about 3mm in length.
This is a very interesting creature. When they are this size they protect themselves by producing a slimy foam ball and staying inside it most of the time, which shelters them, but also makes them very easy for photographers to find. As to ease of photography, that's a different story, as they don't stop running around!
At last, this cute guy let me catch a natural light image, which I'm quite satisfied about.

Suggester says : It takes a lot of skill and patience to capture an extreme macro of a 3mm bug. Not only is this spittlebug nymph teeny, but as the photographer says, "...they don't stop running around!" I think this is an excellent representation of a bug most of us will never see---except here ! ( Suggested by ~Sandy33311 and Featured by `hellfirediva )
