The Shroom by erezmarom The Shroom by erezmarom

My very first time in this beautiful park. Timna has amazing desert landscape, including rock pillars, natural arches and this big, mushroom-like natural rock formation. Seemed like the perfect place for some star trails, so we camped right by and s[ent the night watching the full moon shine upon the scenery.

Did that natural moon stay at the same place for several hours? ;)

No, the foreground is from a single image, naturally.

Of course it is, I knew that. But why not combining them as you did with the star trails? The photo looks lifeless now, very sterile.

Sorry to disappoint with such a lifeless image, but combining the foregrounds from all the shots wouldn't make it any better.

any chance you could upload that image anyways? I would very much like to see what the foreground looks like with a moving light source :)

What's purer, star trails with the foreground from a single image or infra-red pink-dream images? :)
Reply
:icondimensionseven:
DimensionSeven Featured By Owner Apr 28, 2013
Pinky infrared shots were easily possible with color infrared film.
Star trails with normal, low ISO films just as well, but with film, the shadows would have moved along with the moon. ;)

errr, but none of us is shooting with film. And why is film purer than digital???
