I'm extremely happy and proud to announce my two Iceland workshops for winter 2014. TEASER TRAILER HERE!

The improved 'Land of Ice', January 16th-23rd, 2014:
This 8-day photo workshop will take you to the most fascinating locations in Iceland's south coast, including pitch-black volcanic beaches adorned with countless diamond-like glaciers, hidden crystal-blue ice caves, snow-covered volcanoes, frozen lakes and colorful lagoons. We'll cross icy rivers, explore the insides of immense glaciers, take a monster-truck ride into the depths of the frozen land and behold the incredible Aurora Borealis.

And the all-new 'Winter Paradise', January 25th - February 1st, 2014:
In this workshop we'll head to the wilder, less-visited western and northern parts of Iceland, where weather is more stable, chances of witnessing the Aurora are higher, killer whales and seals roam the waters hunting herring and towering mountains join frozen blue waterfalls to make some of Iceland's most amazing scenery. Naturally, no Iceland workshop is complete without a monster-truck ride, so we'll take a super-jeep tour into the frozen highlands, to visit some incredible waterfalls and locations unreachable otherwise. We'll also take a wild boart-sail to shoot orca whales up close!

You can see many more of my Iceland shots in my Iceland gallery, and I'll keep posting them here as well.

The two workshops are scheduled with a 2-day pause between them, making it possible to join both workshops for a 17-day bonanza while still getting much-needed rest between them. If you have any questions about the workshops, or if you'd like to participate, please feel free to contact me through deviatart or at erezmarom@hotmail.com and I'll be glad to help.

I hope to see you in Iceland!
Best regards,
Erez

Hello everyone,
I'm back from Iceland after almost a month of hard work shooting and guiding my 2 workshops there. It was hard but insane! I've been exploring the north of the island to make a second part to my workshop next year, and we had an amazing time over there, as well as an astonishing variety of wild nature. I'll let you know all about it in the next few months, but right now I'm going back to concentrating on macro, because my 'Macro and More' Costa Rica workshop is open for registration!!!

A joint effort with Foto Verde Tours Costa Rica, this workshop (scheduled to July 2013, in just 4.5 months!) is truly one of a kind, concentrating on macro, wildlife and landscape photography and offering countless opportunities to witness our incredible planet up close and personal, including encounters with insects, frogs, spiders, mammals and birds, and that's just the wildlife part!

To those of you interested in landscape photography, we'll definitely do that as well, as the rainforests offer amazing sceneries.

The workshop is open to participants in all ages and level of proficiency. I'm very experienced in teaching photography to all skill levels, so anyone will be able to learn something new and significantly improve their results. Discover cutting edge macro techniques and working methods, unravel invisible worlds in a way you never thought possible, all this in fantastic conditions, taken care of by an established and specialized photo-tour company. We'll work hard but have tons of fun while doing it! :)

For more details and for registration, please visit the workshop webpage on my website, or visit Foto Verde's workshop page.
I'm always happy to answer any questions you might have about the workshop, so don't hesitate to contact me!

Hey guys!
I've recently returned from a 4-month trip to south America (Colombia, Peru and Bolivia). Man, what a trip. Not only in a photographic way, this has been the trip of my life in terms of personal experience. Well, I had to get a few shots too, and you'll see them in the future.

Today I got my 7th DD - 'My Favorite Gnome':
My Favorite Gnome by erezmarom
showing my dear friend Shy in a spectacular ice cave in Iceland. This image has been widely published (among others in a German magazine distributed together with the German National Geographic!) and also licensed a few times. One of my more popular images and a personal favorite. So big thanks to IsacGoulart for the feature!

The best news I have is that my 'Land of Ice' 2013 winter workshop is now SOLD OUT! I'm humbled and grateful, and can't wait to meet all the participants and have a crazy time in Iceland. If you want to participate in a future workshop, please stay tuned. In a few month's time I'll announce the 2014 workshop.

Lastly, I'd like to thank all those who wrote me for my 32nd birthday for their kind words. I can't reply to all of you, but I've read everything and I'm thankful.

Until next time,
See ya! :)

To lure you in, I've written an article for DPReview.com, dealing with winter photography in Iceland. You can read the article here. I hope you enjoy it - let me know what you think!

Hello all!
I'm super-excited to announce my first ever 'Land of Ice' Iceland winter workshop, set to happen this coming January in south Iceland.
The workshop is co-guided by renouned Icelandic mountaineer and pro photographer Skarphedinn Thrainsson, and during its 8 days you will experience what are arguably the best raw natural spots in Europe, and perhaps some of the best winter sceneries in the world!

To get an idea of the kind of images you can expect to get on the workshop, see my full Iceland winter gallery here.

A bit about the workshop:
Just south of the Arctic circle lies a magical island - the land of fire and ice, the ever mesmerizing Icelend.
Iceland in winter is a very different place to Iceland in summer. Sub-zero temperatures, bone-chilling winds and harsh conditions are prevalent, but the photographic rewards are accordingly immense. From ice fields as far as the eye can see, through glaciers and blue ice caves to the mind boggling northern lights, winter is THE season for photography in Iceland, for those who dare.

Join professional nature photographer Erez Marom and Icelandic mountaineer/pro photographer Skarphedinn Thrainsson (Skarpi) for the photographic journey of a lifetime. This 8-day photo workshop will take you to out-of-this-world sceneries, including pitch-black volcanic beaches adorned with countelss diamond-like glaciers, hidden crystal-blue ice caves, snow-covered volcanoes, frozen lakes and colorful lagoons. We'll cross icy rivers, explore the insides of immense glaciers, take a monster-truck ride into the depths of the frozen land and behold the incredible Aurora Borealis.

The workshop isn't only very diverse and full of excitement, it's also the most affordable I've ever seen. You don't have to go bankrupt since winter is a relatively inexpensive season to travel in Iceland. Rest assured - the affordable price doesn't mean we'll compromise on anything: the hotels are wornderful, the food filling and traditional, and the activities - well, let's say we'll have our share of adrenaline! :)
Safety and convenience are also well taken care of, and so you can join without worries. Physical demands are low, apart from the need to withstand cold weather.

Both Skarpi and myself are fluent english speakers, and we also speak other languages (just ask!) so we'll be able to communicate easily. This also means you'll get your money's worth in post-processing and composition lessons throughout the workshop, as well as great fun with a terrific bunch of people, all having the same passion.

To register for the workshop, all you need to do is go to the workshop webpage, check out the itinerary and details and then contact me via email or private message. A small deposit is needed to secure your spot and that's it!
These workshops are truly my babies. I ALWAYS make sure all my clients have the best time possible and get the best shots. Your happiness is my goal.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the workshop. I'll gladly resolve any issue and advise you in equipment decisions and other problems.
I'd really love to see you in Iceland - it is truly an unbelievable place to experience first hand, a journey of a lifetime.
